SKILLS YOU NEED:
- Magic ring, chains, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, invisible decrease, front loop only, back loop only, slip stitch
- How to change yarn color
- Basic sewing and embroidery skills
- How to join parts
SIZE: 28 cm tall using similar yarn
MATERIALS:
- Hook N° 4 and 2.5 mm
- Worsted weight acrylic yarn #4
- I used: El gato expres
- Skin color #09/ 10g. approx.
- Black #99-B/ 70g. approx.
- Light grey #J84-C / 30g. approx
- Yellow #04-B / 5g. approx
- White #00-P / 10g. approx
- Black super fine yarn / 5g. approx.
- Yarn Needle
- stitch marker
- scissors
- pins
- Fiberfill or stuffing of choice
ABBREVIATIONS:
- R = Round
- MR= magic ring
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
- dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
- inv dec = invisible decrease
- FLO = front loop only
- BLO = back loop only
- sts (s) = stitches (s)
- sl st = slip stitch
- rep = repeat
- * * = repeat work between asterisks as indicated
- ( ) = number of stitches you should have at the end of your round
- NOTE:
- Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker
- Start stuffing as you go
PATTERN
ARMS MAKE 2 BLACK COLOR YARN
R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)
R3-4.- 1 sc in each stitch around (12)
R5.- *inv dec, 2 sc* rep 3 times (9)
R6-8.- 1 sc in each stitch around (9)
CHANGE TO LIGHT GREY YARN
R9.- BLO 1 sc in each stitch around (9)
R10-12.- 1 sc in each stitch around (9)
R13.- inv dec, 7 sc (8)
Stuff slightly.
R14.- fold the arm and make 3 sc, both sides together to close.
Fasten off and make another one.
DETAILS OF ARMS(2)
With Black yarn
1.- Make 3 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 1 sc, 1 hdc in the next chain. repeat 3 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 1 sc, 1 hdc in the next chain, chain 1 . Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
- Sew the spikes between rounds 5 to 8
LEGS MAKE 2 BLACK YARN
R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
R2.- inc in each stitch around (12)
R3.- *1 sc, inc* rep 6 times (18)
R4.- *2 sc, inc* rep 6 times (24)
R5.- BLO 1 sc in each stitch around (24)
R6.- 8 sc, 4 inv dec, 8 sc (20)
R7.- 6 sc, 4 inv dec, 6 sc (16)
R8-11.- 1 sc in each stitch around (16)
CHANGE TO LIGHT GREY YARN
R12.- BLO 1 sc in each stitch around (16)
R13-15.- 1 sc in each stitch around (16)
Stuff firmly, fasten off .
We are going to continue with BLACK yarn in the back side of round # 5
FLO: 1 sc in each chain, sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off.
We are going to continue with BLACK yarn in the back side of round # 12
FLO: 5 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 5 sc, sl st in the first sc.
fasten off.
Make a second leg, DO NOT cut the yarn at the end.
BODY
CHANGE TO BLACK YARN
Second leg make 6 sc and chain 3. now join the legs, count 3 sc of the first leg. see picture # 3 , place your stitch marker in the first sc.
R16.- Make 16 sc , 3 sc over the chain taking only one strand , 16 sc , 3 sc over the chain taking only one strand (38)
R17-18.- 1 sc in each stitch around (38)
R19.- * 17 sc, inv dec* rep 2 times (36)
R20-21.- 1 sc in each stitch around (36)
CHANGE TO YELLOW YARN
R22.- BLO 1 sc in each stitch around (36)
CHANGE TO LIGHT GREY YARN
R23.- BLO * 4 sc, dec * rep 6 times (30)
R24-26.- 1 sc in each stitch around (30)
R27.- * 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)
R28.- 1 sc in each stitch around (24)
R29.- Make 6 sc, we place the arm to join the body through the 4 strands and we make 3 sc, continued with 9 sc place the second arm and make 3 sc and finish the round with 3 sc (24)
¡Start stuffing as you go!
R30.- * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 6 times (18)
R31.- 1 sc in each stitch around (18)
Before we continued, we are going to make a BAT
With Black super fine yarn and 2.5 mm hook
1.- Make 10 chains, start in the 4th chain from the hook and make 3 dc in the same chain. 1 hdc in the next chain. 1 sl st in the next chain, 1 hdc 1 dc and 1 hdc in the same chain, 1 sl st in the next chain, 1 hdc in the next chain, and 4 dc in the last chain. chain 1 . Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
- Sew the bat in between rounds 26 to 28.
HEAD
CHANGE TO BLACK YARN
R32.- 1 sc in each stitch around (18)
R33.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 6 times (24)
R34.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)
R35.- * 4 sc, inc * rep 6 times (36)
R36.- * 5 sc, inc * rep 6 times (42)
R37.-* 6 sc, inc * rep 6 times (48)
R38.- With Black make 21 sc, change to Skin and BLO make 11 sc, change to Black and make 16 sc (48)
R39.- With Black make 20 sc, change to Skin and make 13 sc, change to Black and make 15 sc (48)
R40.- With Black make 19 sc, change to Skin and make 15 sc, change to Black and make 14 sc (48)
R41.- With Black make 18 sc, change to Skin and make 17 sc, change to Black and make 13 sc (48)
R42-47 .- 1 sc in each stitch around (48)
- With Black super fine yarn embroider the mouth in round 40
- With black yarn embroider the edges of the part that we crochet with skin color.
- With white yarn embroider the eyes between rounds 45 to 46. 4 stitches apart.
We continue with the head
R48.-* 6 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (42)
R49.- * 5 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (36)
¡Start stuffing as you go!
R50.-* 4 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (30)
R51.-* 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)
R52.-* 2 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (18)
Stuff firmly
R53.-* 1 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (12)
R54.- * inv dec * rep 6 times (6)
Stuff firmly, fasten off.
EARS MAKE 2
BLACK YARN
R1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
R2.- 1 sc in each stitch around (6)
R3.- * inc, 1 sc* rep 3 times (9)
R4.- 1 sc in each stitch around (9)
R5.- * inc, 2 sc * rep 3 times (12)
R6.-Fold the ear and make 5 sc, both sides together to close.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing, make another one.
- Sew ears between round 47 to 48.
CLOAK
BLACK YARN
1.- Make 21 chains
2-6.- 1 sc in each st. ch 1 and turn. (20)
7.- dec, 16 sc, dec. ch 1 and turn (18)
8.- 1 sc in each st. ch 1 and turn (18)
9.- dec, 14 sc, dec. ch 1 and turn (16)
10-14.- 1 sc in each st. ch 1 and turn (16)
15.- dec, 12 sc, dec. ch 1 and turn (14)
16.- 1 sc in each st. ch 1 and turn (14)
17.- dec, 10 sc, dec. ch 1 and turn (12)
18.- 1 sc in each st. ch 1 and turn (12)
19.- dec, 8 sc, dec. ch 1 and turn. (10)
20-21 .- 1 sc in each st. (10)
Single crochet all the way down the piece, increase in the corner. we continue on the bottom with
* 2 sc, 1 dc 1 chain 1 dc * rep 4 times, 2 sc. In the corner, we make an increase and continue with sc to the top
Make 7 chains, 6 sc, 10 sc, 7 chains, 6 sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail, sew the cloak on the neck
