Here’s another superhero for your collection, Captain America Amigurumi Inspired by Marvel Comics

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

SKILLS YOU NEED:

  • Magic ring, chains, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, invisible decrease, front loop only, back loop only, slip stitch
  •  How to change yarn color
  • Basic sewing and embroidery skills
  • How to join parts

MATERIALES:

  • Hook N°  4 mm
  • Worsted weight acrylic yarn #4
  • I used: El Gato expres
  • Red / 40g. approx.
  • Royal Blue / 50g approx.
  • Light brown / 20g.  approx
  • Skin color / 50g. approx.
  • White / 30g.  approx
  • Black super fine yarn to embroider mouth
  • 2 (12mm) safety eyes
  • yarn needle
  • stitch marker
  • scissors
  • pins
  • Fiberfill or stuffing of choice

SIZE: Finished size about 27 cm tall using similar yarn

NOTE:

  • Choose your favorite worsted weight yarn
  • Work in continuous rounds
  • Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker
  • Do not join rounds with a slip stitch or turn unless stated otherwise
  • If you normally crochet loosely, you may want to use a smaller hook size to tighten your stitches up
  • Start stuffing as you go

ABBREVIATIONS:

  • Rnd = round
  • MR= magic ring
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
  • dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
  • inv dec = invisible decrease
  • FLO = front loop only
  • BLO = back loop only
  • sts (s) = stitches (s)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • rep = repeat
  • * * = repeat work between asterisks as indicated
  • ( ) = number of stitches you should have at the end of your round

PATTERN, ARMS MAKE 2

Start With RED

Rnd 1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

Rnd 2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

Rnd 3-4.- 1  sc in each stitch around (12)

Rnd 5.- *inv dec, 2 sc* rep 3 times (9)

Rnd 6.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

CHANGE TO WHITE 

Rnd 7.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (9)

Rnd 8-9.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

CHANGE TO ROYAL BLUE 

Rnd 10-12.- 1  sc in each stitch around (9)

Rnd 13.-  inv dec, 7 sc (8)

Stuff firmly

Rnd 14.- fold the arm and make 3 sc, both sides together to close.

fasten off and make another one.

We are going to continue with RED yarn in the back side of round # 7

FLO:  1 sc in each chain, sl st in the first sc.

fasten off.

LEGS MAKE 2 RED YARN

Rnd 1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

Rnd 2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

Rnd 3.- *1 sc, inc* rep 6 times (18)

Rnd 4.- *2 sc, inc* rep 6 times (24)

Rnd 5.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (24)

Rnd 6.- 8 sc, 4 inv dec, 8 sc (20)

Rnd 7.- 6 sc, 4 inv dec, 6 sc (16)

Rnd 8-11.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

CHANGE TO ROYAL BLUE 

Rnd 12.-  BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (16)

Rnd 13-15.- 1  sc in each stitch around (16)

Stuff firmly, fasten off .

We are going to continue with red yarn in the back side of round # 5

FLO:  1 sc in each chain, sl st in the first sc.

fasten off.

We are going to continue with red  yarn in the back side of round # 12

FLO: 1 hdc in each stitch around, sl st in the first hdc.

fasten off.

Make a second leg, DO NOT cut the yarn at the end.

BODY

Second leg make 6 sc and chain 3.  now join the legs,  count 3 sc of the first leg.  see picture # 3, place your stitch marker in the first sc.

Rnd 16.-  Make 16 sc, 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand, 16 sc, 3 sc  over the chain taking only one strand (38)

Rnd 17-18.- 1  sc in each stitch around (38)

Rnd 19.- * 17 sc, inv dec* rep 2 times (36)

Rnd 20-21.- 1  sc in each stitch around (36)

CHANGE TO LIGHT BROWN 

Rnd 22.-  1  sc in each stitch around (36)

CHANGE TO WITHE 

Rnd 23.- BLO  * 4 sc, dec * rep 6 times (30)

Rnd 24-25.- 1  sc in each stitch around (30)

CHANGE TO ROYAL BLUE

Rnd 26.- 1  sc in each stitch around (30)

Rnd 27.- * 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

Rnd 28.- 1  sc in each stitch around (24)

Rnd 29.- 6 sc, we place the arm to join the body through the 4 strands and we make 3 sc, continued with 9 sc

Place the second arm and make 3 sc and finish the round with 3 sc (24)

Rnd 30.- * inv dec, 2 sc* rep 6 times (18)

Rnd 31.- 1  sc in each stitch around (18)

CHANGE TO SKIN COLOR 

Rnd 32.- BLO  1  sc in each stitch around (18)

With our needle and white yarn, embroider a star. see pictures 1 to 21.

With our needle and red yarn, we embroider lines between round 23 to 25. 

HEAD

Rnd 33.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 6 times (24)

Rnd 34.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)

Rnd 35.- * 4 sc, inc * rep 6 times (36)

Rnd 36.- * 5 sc, inc * rep 6 times (42)

Rnd 37.-* 6 sc, inc * rep 6 times (48)

Rnd 38-45 .- 1  sc in each stitch around (48)

¡Start stuffing as you go!

  • Place safety eyes between round 44 and 43. 6 stitches apart
  • Embroider nose between rounds 42 to 41
  • Embroider mouth in round 39

CHANGE TO ROYAL BLUE

Rnd 46.-1  sc in each stitch around (48)

Rnd 47.- BLO 1 sc in each stitch around (48)

Rnd 48.-* 6 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (42)

Rnd 49.-* 5 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (36)

Rnd 50.-* 4 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (30)

Rnd 51.-* 3 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (24)

Rnd 52.-* 2 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (18)

Stuff firmly

Rnd 53.-* 1 sc, inv dec * rep 6 times (12)

Rnd 54.- * inv dec * rep 6 times (6)

With our needle and white yarn, embroider a letter A between rounds 48 to 50.

Stuff firmly, fasten off 

HELMET ROYAL BLUE COLOR 

NOTE

  • Start  round with a ch 1 and a sc in the same st.
  • Finish row with sl st in the first sc

1.- Leave a long strand of yarn and make 48 chains, join in round with a slip stitch.

2.- 35 sc, chain 10, skip 5 stitches, 2 hdc, ch 10, skip 5 stitches, 1 sc.

NOTE
– Start row with ch 2 and dc in the same stitch.
– Ch 2 doesn’t count as dc.
– Finish row with sl st in the first dc.

3.- Make 34 dc, continue with 24 sc.

4-6.- make 34 dc, ch2 and turn

7.- ch 1, and make * 3 sc, dec* rep 6 times (30)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

  • Sew helmet in FLO of round #47.

WINGS MAKE 2 WHITE COLOR 

1.- Make 8 chains, start in the 2nd chain from the hook and make 2 sl st, 5 sc. ch 1 and turn.

2.- 4 sc, chain 1 and turn

3.- 1 slip stitch, 3 sc, chain 1 and turn

4.- 2 sc, chain 1 and turn

fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Make another one.

  • Sew wings to the sides.

SHIELD  

ROYAL BLUE

Rnd 1.- Start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

Rnd 2.- inc in each stitch around (12)

Rnd 3.- * 1 sc, inc * rep 6 times (18)

CHANGE TO RED 

Rnd 4.- * 2 sc, inc * rep 6 times (24)

CHANGE TO WHITE

Rnd 5.- * 3 sc, inc * rep 6 times (30)

CHANGE TO RED 

Rnd 6.- * 4 sc, inc * rep 6 times (36)

Rnd 7.- 1  sc in each stitch around (36)

Fasten off

With our needle and white yarn, embroider a star
